Cryostats

Principle

The cryostat allows sections of frozen tissue from 5 µm to 100 µm to be produced in a chamber maintained between -10°C and -27 °C depending on the type of tissue.

Applications :

  • Histological staining
  • Immunohistochemistry
  • In situ hybridization
  • Laser microdissection
  • Molecular diagnostic studies
Equipment

Models available within the Institute :

  • CM3050S from LEICA with or without refrigeration of the object holder

Only laboratory personnel who have received the necessary instructions during training are authorized to use the Institute’s cryostats.
